Welcome to Thatch House Dental

Thatch House Dental is an independent family-owned dental surgery. We acquired Long Buckby dental practice in late 2021 and changed our identity to Thatch House Dental in 2022. We wanted to pay homage to the picturesque grade II listed building we are situated within, with its beautiful thatched roof, giving the practice its unique charm.

We would like to warmly welcome you and your family to our practice where we provide bespoke, high class ethical care, in relaxing surroundings. Our long-standing team are passionate about quality, and we will ensure new techniques and technologies are brought to the practice to benefit our patients.

I graduated from Kings College London in 2011, after which I embarked on a Senior House Officer position at Guys Hospital in London. I was lucky enough to work alongside world renowned consultants in the fields of Oral Surgery and Restorative Dentistry during my time there.

I am extremely passionate about providing quality dentistry and love taking the time to get to know exactly what my patients’ needs are. Rest assured your treatment will not be rushed and will be with a gentle touch.

Outside of work, my manual dexterity skills are kept up to scratch by the constant demands of my two young toddlers, Luca and Lana!

It was an honour to study dentistry at the prestigious Kings College London, graduating in 2011. Since then, I have gained a significant wealth of knowledge and clinical expertise which enables me to provide an excellent level treatment for my patients.

Dentistry is a dynamic field and I enjoy keeping at the cutting edge through post graduate courses, my aim is to always provide the gold standard of care.

Outside of work I love spending time with my young family, taking them out into the countryside to explore. Cycling and keeping fit is also something I enjoy, especially as it allows me to cook (and eat) delicious food, another passion of mine.

Dr Sylvia Bentley

BDS (Lond)

Sylvia qualified at Guys Hospital London in 2000 and worked at two large practices in Northamptonshire before acquiring Long Buckby Dental Practice in 2010 which she was the principal dentist of before selling it to Deep and Sheena in 2021.

She particularly enjoys the village dentist atmosphere at the practice as she has got to know all her patients well and feels a valued member of the community. She has excellent clinical skill and knowledge and produces brilliant results for her patients. She offers a wide range of treatments, including composite bonding and orthodontics with SureSmile.

Originally from Staffordshire, Sylvia lived in the village for a short time after finishing university and now lives near Crick where she enjoys living on and running a small holding with husband Ed and their young daughters. As well as throwing and enjoying a good party, Sylvia’s spare time is spent travelling to see friends and family abroad.

Hygienist

Miss Nadezda Dizanova

Nadia is our brilliant hygienist. She qualified in 2013 and has many years of clinical experience. She frequently attends post graduate courses and has completed the ‘masterclass in Periodontal Disease’ and further training dental implant maintenance. Her quality of care is second to none and we are proud to have her at our practice.

Outside of work she enjoys travelling but her main passion is horses. She spends many hours at the stables tending to her horses and loves riding and show-jumping.

Andrea Thompson

Andrea, AKA ‘The Boss’, is the longest standing member of the team, she's worked at the practice since 2005 and the place wouldn’t be the same without her. She is an incredibly vital person to the practice and is also a familiar face to our patients.

She qualified as a dental nurse at Northampton University in 2007 and she still enjoys the variety the workday can bring. Her friendly nature really puts our patients at ease.

In her spare time (not that she has much!) she enjoys walking/keeping fit, baking, gardening and spending quality time with her family.
